The Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, is recruiting a full-time Associate Director for Research Programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the strategic planning, development, and implementation of program.
  • Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies.
  • Represents the program in various national and international fora.
  • Conducts research, designs new initiatives, writes publishable articles and papers, collaborates with others, and designs programs.
  • May supervise staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of clinical, translational, and basic research studies across the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
  • Participates in planning administration and monitoring of research budgets.
  • Establishes and administers policies and procedures.
  • Supervises and trains research staff.
  • Oversees related special projects and monitors compliance.
  • Collaborates with and supports faculty researchers, including coordination with regulatory bodies (IRB, OCR, RAS, DAR and EHSO).
  • Creates reports and generates metrics to monitor research projects and participate in strategic planning for the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and five years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Master's degree preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in public health, science, administration, or a related field and two years of management level experience.
  • Experience with clinical research projects and clinical trials.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with IRB, OCR, and EHSO regulatory processes.
  • Hiring and managing personnel, including overseeing effort and projecting growth.
  • Experience dealing with finance including monitoring budgets for sponsored research projects.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
