ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The Sr. Volunteer Coordinator will also be accountable for the onboarding and recruitment of volunteers for the Winship at Emory Midtown location and the Winship Northern Arc Locations (St. Joseph's, Johns Creek, and Buford). 
  • Additionally, serve as a Co-Staff liaison for the Winship Patient & Family Advisory Council and Volunteer Marketing Committee. 
  • Along with coordinating and facilitating patient activities at assigned sites.

Sr. Coordinator, Volunteer Services, Salary: $18.27 - $30.69/hour, The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials.

Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages the day to day activity and short/long-range planning of Volunteer Services.
  • Responsible for volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, annual in-services, Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates other annual and day to day requirements for volunteers.
  • Plans and implements activities to recruit new volunteers that support and enhance the organization's mission.
  • Conducts surveys to determine needs which could be filled through volunteer services.
  • Implements customer service surveys and feedback system to manage volunteer needs, concerns and maintain volunteer engagement.
  • Oversees onboarding, placement, training and evaluations for all onsite volunteers, work study students and special assignment volunteers.
  • Prepares job descriptions for volunteer assignments. Builds relationships with volunteers and leaders to identify effective matching of volunteer skills and abilities with hospital department needs.
  • Addresses complaints regarding volunteer performance and service in their assignments.
  • Maintains communication with staff, auxiliary groups, and volunteer and community organizations. Provides special event support for recognition activities, fundraisers and committee meetings.
  • Develops and implements communication tools for volunteers. Assists with budget preparation and monitors expenses.
  • Maintains and updates volunteer web pages and responds to all interactive website feedback (on line applications).
  • Works with hospital leaders to fill short term needs, one time projects and special request for volunteer support.
  • Maintains online database of volunteer records for demographics, emergency contacts, hours/years of service, assignments and daily clocking activities.
  • Develops and maintains database for e-mail blasts, mailing lists, team rosters, regulatory reporting, time sheets and other reports from volunteer software.
  • Assist with budget preparations and monitors expenses.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Five years experience which includes work with volunteer organizations and supervisory responsibilities OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Two years of supervisory experience is desired.
  • Customer service experience is required.
