Duties : Job Summary Performslaboratory analysis on received specimens providing clinicalinformation for diagnosis treatment and prevention of diseases.

Responsible for overall quality efficiency and safety in theperformance of assigned technical duties. Essential FunctionsDemonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures andpolicies by adherence to quality assurance guidelines for equipmentand work area documenting corrective action to any nonconformingevent.

Prepares reagents maintains an adequate supply of materialsfor test procedures and manages inventory to effectively reducedepartmental waste / expense.

Exercises clinical judgment inassessing priorities while identifying problem solving and offeringsolutions to test systems through the appropriate departmentchannels i.

e. contacts hotline to troubleshoot with a specialistwhen necessary to resolve the issue or setup service whenappropriate.

Assists with review and revision of procedures anddocumentation related to accreditation adhering to all regulatoryrequirements for various authorities including but not limited toCAP TJC OSHA.

Maintains clear real time communications shifttoshiftand with leadership regarding issues concerns and problems whichmay affect patient care or the operation of the department.

Participates in planning and implementing change throughparticipation in staff meetings task forces or projects.Participates in competency assessment program where qualified.

Physical Requirements Works in a fastpaced clinical environment.Works in an area which contains bio hazardous (infectious)materials along with chemical fire and mechanical hazards.

Dutiesmay involve standing walking stretching stooping bending andlifting light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound)loads.

Skills : Must be anASCP registered Medical Technologist or equivalent. A minimum oftwo (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalentcombination of education and experience isrequired.
