Emmy’s Academy Assistant Teacher

Emmy’s Academy is an early intervention childcare center providing an early learning environment with low student to teacher ratios. We will accept all children regardless of diagnosis or special circumstances ages 6 weeks through 5 years old. We offer a tailored experience for all children.

Starting at $9 per hour:

• CPR/FIRST Aid certified or must be willing to obtain
• Candidate will be responsible for the care of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age in a mixed environment
• Candidate will be responsible for teaching developmentally appropriate educational material to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age
• Under direct guidance from our Special Education Teacher
• Candidate must be a self-starter
• Must have a passion for children
• Candidate must have an open/flexible schedule
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor or administrator
• Maintains a classroom environment which promotes active learning
• Maintains daily classroom routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, setting up meals, etc. (we use the HiMama app for attendance and reports)
• Attends mandatory meetings and trainings
• Adheres to Emmy’s Academy policies and procedures
• Uses appropriate judgment to always act in the best interest of students
• Maintain an orderly learning environment
• Share routine duties with other staff (supervision on playground, toileting, cleanup, classroom maintenance)
• Assist in keeping room and other areas neat and clean
• Interact with children in activities he/she is supervising
• Perform health checks on children daily
• Perform appropriate hand washing and sanitizing procedures
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
• Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
• Maintain the health and safety of all students
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Teamwork skills
• Leadership Skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
