Regenerative Research Scientist

Biofyl Scientific Research is an independent contract research laboratory with more than 20 years of expertise in the field of Regenerative Medicine. Biofyl specializes in hematology and autologous biologics research and provides scientific services for customized testing of medical devices and autologous biologics for regulatory, marketing and research and development.

Biofyl is seeking a talented Research Scientist to support research in hematology and regenerative medicine. The Research Scientist will have a key role in the laboratory’s general operations and execution of research projects. This position requires a technical expert with the ability to perform high-level laboratory work and method development in various scientific/technical disciplines. A significant component of daily tasks will involve handling of blood and bone marrow samples for cell culture, cell function assays, ELISA assays, microscopy and flow cytometry. The Research Scientist will assist with data entry and management, instrument maintenance and quality control duties.

EducationBachelor of Science Degree in Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or closely related field, plus 2 or more years of experience in any scientist, or related position. Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience:

• 2 or more years working knowledge of laboratory equipment and processes required.
• Knowledge and advanced working experience of computers and MS Office products.

Essential Duties:

• Conduct routine/non-routine testing of samples requiring expertise in various laboratory techniques and complex sample preparation and procedures involved in performing Optical aggregometry, ELISA, Flow cytometry, Cell culture, Microscopy.
• Conduct investigational studies efficiently according to established SOPs.
• Perform instrument maintenance and QC according to SOPs.
• Contribute to day-to-day analytical laboratory operations and assist in equipment management, method setup and troubleshooting.
• Maintains data records and manages regular data entry and archiving.
• Reviews the accuracy of test results prior to reporting.
• Adheres to and maintains confidentiality of data, client records and any information deemed confidential.
• Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested.
