Emcore in Concord, CA is seeking an entry level Mechanical Assembler I position for our first shift in our Quartz MEMS Division, Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3 pm, with occasional OT. Are you comfortable and enjoy working with small hand and jeweler’s type tools, microscope, and soldering tools frequently throughout your workday? 

Starting wage is $20 per hour and this is a FT, permanent position. We offer a full benefit package with employee and immediate family eligibility within your 2nd month of employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical assembly.
  • Mounting quartz forks to bases under a microscope.
  • Fork balancing.
  • Wire Bonding.
  • Laser trimming.
  • Loading and unloading ovens.
  • Soldering.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Manufacturing assembly and soldering experience preferred.
  • Able to be at a workstation for extended periods of time, during each scheduled shift.
  • Trainable, willing to learn and take direction, eager to learn and grow.
  • Able to work independently and as a team.
  • Responsible and dependable.

Desired Skills and Characteristics:

  • Entry Level experience or higher.
  • Microscope work experience preferred.
  • Fine hand dexterity, experience using small hand tools preferred.
  • Ability to follow documentation (Travelers, Station Instructions, MPS etc.).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and emotional intelligence.

Minimum Education Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
