Job Title : Welder

Job Summary :

The job of Metal Fabricator / Welder is done for the purpose / s of meeting demands and completing work orders in a timely manner;

installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of metal; ensuring availability and functioning of required items; and ensuring safety and resolving immediate safety concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Maintains welds on various items using a variety of processes (manual arc, tungsten inert gas, metallic inert gas, brazing, cement core drilling, sheet metal, steam-fitting, etc.

Metal Pallets, Carts, Racking Systems, Guard Rails, electric motorized gates, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items ensuring safety.

Performs preventive maintenance activities on facility following written instructions. PM activities include measurement of wear, replacement of expendables ( belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc.

and inspection / evaluation of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, or vibration.

• Installs various items (, fences, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects safely and within established time frames.
• Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
• Coordinates with on-site team and client for the purpose of completing projects / work orders efficiently.
• Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of completing assigned projects.
• Assists other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

Responds to emergency situations as needed and / or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

Transports various items ( tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.

• Works required shift hours. Is available for weekend work and non-shift work as required.
• Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of completing assigned projects.
• Performs tasks as deemed necessary by the Site Manager

Qualifications :

• Minimum of a G Mig Welding Certification and a minimum of two years welding experience
• Two years minimum welding experience
• Valid driver’s license, Fork truck operator’s license, JLG operator’s license
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations of customers, clients and other employees of the organization
