Job Title: Welder/Fabricator AOR

Job Summary:

This is an ongoing maintenance job with no per diem. Local candidates please. A Kaizen Welder/Fabricator acts as the clients go to person for special projects, fabrication, welding, repair, and installation of tire manufacturing equipment and components. They're expected properly diagnose, replace, or repair parts of equipment by utilizing appropriate tooling, equipment, and materials to accomplish maintenance functions including: inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, removing, and replacing components on equipment. Must be able to solve problems and/or fabricate components by studying drawings, and technical publications if necessary. Must be willing to work flexible shifts, and be subject to overtime. Mechanic will practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all costumer rules and safety procedures and policies. Tobacco free facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints to craft and fabricate tire manufacturing equipment and components
• Repair equipment as needed; replace faulty equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty equipment and components
• Weld using mig, tig, or stick
• Operate lifts and cranes to install equipment and components

Experience:

2 years experience welding/fabricating is required. 2 years industrial maintenance experience, preferred. Technical training preferred but not required. Pipe fitting experience preferred.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Must have high school diploma or GED
• Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings
• Valid drivers license
• Proficient in GTAW/GMAW/FCAW and acetylene welding
• Basic set of hand tools is required
• Ability to proficiently operate power tools used for metal fabrication
• Ability to work at heights and manipulate tools in small spaces
• Interpersonal skills such as oral, verbal and written communication and reasoning is required.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
• Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
• Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
