Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Summary:

A HVAC Technician will perform as a skilled team member in the continuous improvement of maintenance, installation, and repair of plant HVAC equipment, and control systems. Must be willing to work flexible shifts if needed, and be subject to overtime. HVAC Technician will practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all costumer rules and safety procedures and policies. Properly diagnose, replace or repair parts of equipment utilizing appropriate tooling, equipment and material to accomplish maintenance functions including but not limited to the following: inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, removing and/or replacing components on industrial HVAC equipment. Must be able to solve problems by studying drawings, and technical publications if necessary. Tobacco free facility.

Essential Duties:

Responsible for the continuous improvement, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair of industrial HVAC systems at Bridgestone PSR.

Qualifications:

• Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers
• Read and interpret HVAC system schematics/drawings
• Have a valid Driver's License.
• Experience with electrical controls, and components associated with industrial HVAC systems
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues with industrial HVAC systems
• Ability to work independently
• Basic computer skills
• Have a complete set of electrical, and basic hand tools appropriate for electrical maintenance and repair (company will provide specialized tools)
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency in all of the above areas
• Ability to stoop, bend, and manipulate tools in small spaces
• Ability to perform work at heights
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move varied objects up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Experience

• 3 years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC experience
• Experience with industrial chillers

Working Environment & Physical Demands

• Occasional lifting of items weighting a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb stairwells up to 15 levels high.
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders (step, extension, cage) up to 24' high.
• Able to walk at a normal pace for up to 15 continuous minutes.
• Able to work from a standing position for 8-12 hours.
• Ability to twist and bend on a recurring basis.
• Weather conditions that can be expected are wet, humid, heat and cold, bright/dim light, traffic, heights, dusts, and pollen.
• The job requires normal visual acuity, field vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, sense of smell, depth perception, and texture perception.
• Some environments are in a high noise and vibrating area.
