JOB SUMMARY

A Corporate Sales Manager understands the landscape, develops, and fosters business through direct sales. Solicit, negotiate and book new and report clients using multiple channels such as social media, outside calls, and telemarketing. Source and develop potential accounts; update and maintain all forms of account files. Assist the Director of Sales to achieve the highest possible occupancy rate and average daily rate.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Four-year college degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two years experience required in a related position with this company or other organization(s)

JOB ESSENTIALS

· Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through outside sales calls, telemarketing, and networking.

· Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts to maintain and increase our market share.

· Maintain accurate, legible records and files to provide group history ensure future and current quality service and enhance future prospects.

· Participate in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals.

· Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and participate in task forces and committees.

· Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, sales blitzes, National Sales Office and other sources.

· Cultivate lead sources. Network with fellow Account Managers on leads.

· Complete weekly sales reports and submit to Director of Sales.

· Establish and maintain close contacts with top accounts and target accounts, through phone calls, tours, appointments, correspondence and entertainment. Assess their current and future needs.

· Communicate to and coordinate with other hotel departments and personnel all sales information necessary for professional execution of commitments.

· Maintain accurate sales files and trace system on top accounts and target accounts.

· Perform sales tasks and goals as outlined in the marketing plan.

· Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings, training, and other meetings as requested by the Director of Sales.

· Requires knowledge of the hotel's policies and procedures and determine course of action based on these guidelines.

· Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations.

· Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence hotel guests.

· Execute a territorial marketing strategy to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet/exceed sales goals.

· Plan, up-sell and complete the contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel, resolve customer issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.

· Prepare status and period end reports to keep management abreast of activities.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate/hotel procedures and products and the competition's product, strengths and weaknesses to continually improve sales strategies and the achievement of goals.

· Answer telephone and respond to caller inquiries in a pleasant manner

· Maintain group and bookings (within the sales file and SalesPro) to ensure that all information is properly entered

· Prepare contracts and group resumes

· Manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and completely. Ensure follow up with guest are performed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality service. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise in accordance to the “Make it Right” established guidelines.

· Prepare for, participate in, and report out at all necessary internal meetings, conference calls, reporting, planning, and other communications required for this position.

· Follow proper Hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

· Ensure work area is clean and clear of debris or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently and effectively

· Perform any other job-related duties as assigned

Other

· Participate in communication and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and promote sales.

· Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as required.

· Working product knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities and room dimensions as well as to have same knowledge of competitive hotels

· Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

· Ability to take initiative, to succeed under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up

· Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow team members and customers.

· Able to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high level of patience.

· Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Able to work varied shifts, including weekday, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Some lifting may be required.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Travel as required.

Hours required: Forty to fifty hours over a five-day period; days and times may vary based on need.
