As a Development Engineer in Mechanical Engineering, you will develop, design, and integrate components and tooling, relating to medical ultrasound transducers and the manufacturing of medical ultrasound transducers.Your role:• Responsible for the design, check and optimization, realization and integration, life-cycle management, and verification of components and tooling, relating to medical ultrasound transducers.• Develops the work with focus on user and business requirements, compliance, quality and cost. Develops high level and detailed designs in accordance with the product requirements and the company's reference architecture requirements.• Combines existing and/or purchased elements and parts into medical ultrasound transducers and manufacturing processes.• Finalizes the design and integration, and writes verification plans for the developed components and tooling. Tests, analyses and verifies the quality of the design.• Maintains an outside-in approach for the designs created.• Works collaboratively with R&D, Product Industrialization, and operations to develop new manufacturing process and improve current manufacturing processes.• Is responsible for delivering input in the planning process to the project manager. Draws up personal schedules and reports on progress in a structured and methodical way.• Ensures that documentation takes place according to the provided templates from the I2M processes.You’re the right fit if:• B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering or related field• 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in professional engineering.• Knowledge of the design of mechanical constructions in plastic and/or metal and you are familiar with the mass manufacturability aspects (mold / assembly tooling design); ability to document requirements, tests, and designs.• Ability to rapidly develop engineering concepts and drive them to functional prototypes.• Proficient in using SolidWorks and experience in tolerance analysis.• Capable of taking high level designs and finishing the detailed MCAD design and drawings• Capable of applying GD&T• Experience with FEA for structural and thermal simulations• Experience in CNC machining or CNC machined part design• Experience with injection molding or injection molded part design• Evidence of mechanical aptitude -? can they use a wrench, do they work on their own car/tractor/bike?• Experience in documenting test plans/reports, technical reviews, etc.• Experience in metrology• Experience in hands-on failure analysis, relating to design or manufacturing process• A self-starter, highly motivated with good organization and time management skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an excellent team player capable of working with cross functional and cross site teams.
