This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm. The starting pay rate is $15 per hour. This role is onsite at our center located: 238 S Amelia Ave, DeLand, FL 32724. 
The Assistant Preschool Teacherworks with the lead teacher to coordinate engaging developmental activities and implement curriculum that prepares children for school and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The assistant teacher serves as a model and mentor. In this role you will have the opportunity to build dynamic classroom environments, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.

What You’ll Do:
• Assist the lead teacher in coordinating and implementing educational curriculum by creating classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards 
• Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching 
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate exercises to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth 
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement 
• Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met 
• Work with staff, children, and parents to foster a team environment
• Encourage children to develop a community-spirited classroom through sharing, caring and self-regulation 
• Promote self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling 

What We Need from You:
• High School Diploma and/or degree in early childhood education or related field of study
• FL DCF 45 hours or willingness to complete 10 School Readiness trainings with University of Florida
• Minimum of 1 -2 years of professional early childhood education or experience 
• Must clear a full level II DCF background check 
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and technology skills 
• Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed 
• Demonstrate empathy and patience in difficult situations while being Cheerful, enthusiastic, and engaging in the workplace 
• Effective in communicating with both students and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns 
• CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
