Preconstruction Manager - Dallas Fort-Worth Area

We're looking for a Preconstruction Manager, who will play a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for overseeing and executing complex estimating assignments while fostering strong relationships with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Estimating:

  • Perform complex estimating assignments, encompassing conceptual through final design stages.
  • Develop comprehensive estimates with project benchmarks and value analysis.
  • Utilize various delivery methods including hard bid, negotiated GMP, Design Build, and IPD.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with operations teams to address general requirements such as fees, financials, staffing, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with internal Scheduling Department to establish and manage project timelines.
  • Communicate pricing requirements clearly to subcontractors and ensure thorough scope definition.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced estimators.
  • Lead estimate reviews with project management, design team, and owners.
  • Collaborate with internal Virtual Design group to develop quantities, logistics plans, and 4D schedules.

Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, owners, engineers, and clients for potential business development.
  • Develop subcontractor and supplier relationships to enhance project outcomes.

Technology Utilization:

  • Proficiently utilize estimating software tools such as P6, BuildingConnected, BlueBeam, Agtek, Sage, Destini, Assemble, and others.
  • Gather historical data from past/on-going projects for use in future estimates.
  • Leverage technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Site Visits and Proposal Preparation:

  • Visit job sites to gain insights into estimate accuracy and project impacts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to assist with proposal preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field; or equivalent construction experience.
  • 4-10 years of Estimating and/or combination of estimating and project management experience.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Superior organizational skills.

  • Proven experience with technology.
