Job Description: An exceptional Commercial General Contractor is seeking a highly experienced Chief Estimator to join their dynamic team in Houston. As a Chief Estimator, you will play a critical role in the success of the projects by accurately estimating costs and ensuring the profitability of each venture. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Houston commercial sector and extensive experience in bidding on projects exceeding $25 million.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the estimating department, ensuring accurate and timely estimates for all projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Utilize historical data, industry benchmarks, and market trends to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Manage the bid process from start to finish, including soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
• Provide support to the pre-construction and business development teams as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Over 10 years of estimating experience in the commercial construction sector, with a focus on ground-up projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Houston commercial construction market.
• Proven track record of successfully bidding on and winning projects exceeding $25 million.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
