The Registered Nurse has the responsibility of meeting the medical needs of the individuals at Casey’s Place. The nurse will collaborate with parents, guardians, administration team, and Director Developmental Disability Services to provide the optimum environment for all guests of Casey's Place. The part-time position is scheduled in a manner to best meet the medical needs of the program.

Responsibilities:

• • • • Help oversee primary health care for individuals in the program
      • Semi-annual/annual updating and revising medication orders and other medical information (i.e. diagnosis information sheets, PONS (plan of nursing care), medical consent forms, etc.)
      • Attend monthly staff meetings
      • On-call for rotating weeks
      • Provide emergency assistance when on-call
      • Maintain a current and ongoing knowledge of pediatric health issues and practices through medical literature, in-services, workshops, etc.
      • Provide training for Direct Support Professionals, as needed
      • Develop and maintain collaborative and resourceful internal and external communications
      • Other duties as assigned

• Registered Nurse (New York State license/ registration)
• Have malpractice insurance
• Have a Provider ID and NPI for Emedny
• Valid NYS Driver's License

Essential Job Qualifications:

• Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without assistance
• Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time
• Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion
