Founded in 1945, Ellison Bakery is a leading industrial bakery located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ellison produces cookies, snack bars, crunch and inclusion, and other products for the industrial market, foodservice industry, and retail and private label space.

Purpose :

Our Recruiting Coordinator will be responsible for the company’s full-life recruitment cycle. To attract candidates, interview, hire and retain for all disciplines for the company.

The recruiter will collaborate with department managers on a regular basis to determine current needs and to proactively identify future hiring needs.

The recruiter will attract candidates using various sources to attract and fill current needs while growing a strong talent pipeline.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Constant communication with managers to understand current recruiting needs and understanding applicant qualifications.
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications through completing job and task analysis.
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate resources (internet, social media, referrals, colleges, trade schools, job fairs, etc.)
  • Screen candidates resumes and job applications.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, verifying references, and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Arranging and facilitating plant tours.
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation / onboarding programs, maintain confidential documents and employee files, and track applicants and corresponding documentation.
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation, enforcing regulations with managers, recommending new procedures, and conducting training.
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices.
  • Stay abreast of recruiting trends and best practices.
  • Promote the company’s reputation as an employer of choice.

Skills / Work Experience Needed :

  • Associate Degree in relevant field.
  • 5 full-cycle recruiting experience in exempt and non-exempt environment, including management and high-volume hourly positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust.
  • Hands on experience with selection processes (video interviewing, phone interviewing, reference check, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with recruiting software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
  • Data and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable making decisions independently.
