BREAST FEEDING COORDINATOR

DEPARTMENT: Health Department - Healthy Beginnings

HIRING RANGE: $27.38-$30.42/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring County Breastfeeding Promotion Program meets all State WIC requirements, providing supervision for breastfeeding staff, performing participant education, supporting women with difficult breastfeeding issues, and serving as clinic nutritionist, dietitian, or nurse as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor degree in dietetics or nursing with at least 2 years of experience with breastfeeding and working as a nutritionist, dietitian, or nurse
Must be or able to achieve an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and/or Certified Lactation Specialist within one year
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Working knowledge of WIC/county policies, procedures and requirements
Ability to supervise assigned staff
Ability to meet all hiring and retention requirements, including receiving tuberculosis, Tdap, Hepatitis B, varicella, and influenza vaccines
