Assistant Project Manager:
Elk River Development, based out of Warrenton, VA, is a commercial general contractor focused on federal contracting projects. We are seeking a driven Assistant Project Manager for our expanding and growing team.
The Role:
The APM is responsible for all aspects of the project in the construction phase from pre-construction planning through completion of the project closeout under the direction and oversight of a Project Manager. Duties include technical documentation, jobsite communications with the Project Superintendent and subcontractors, scheduling and cost analysis.
A successful candidate should possess a background with demonstrated experience, computer skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Essential Functions:
· Assists the Project Manager in all phases and aspects of the project;
· Ability to identify and solve problems efficiently and effectively;
· Maintain positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers and all employees;
· Assists PM in the development of the overall project schedule;
· Ability to review drawings and specifications to become completely familiar with the project;
· Manages submittal log and ensures all submittals are processed promptly;
· Follows up on collection of all non-received documents and escalates any issues to the PM;
· Prepares all project meeting agendas and associated attachments as direct by the PM;
· Attends weekly project meetings as requested by the PM and keeps detailed meeting minutes for publishing to the project team;
· Drafts, submits, and tracks all RFI’s and distributes to all team members as appropriate.
Experience / Requirements:
· Federal commercial experience preferred;
· Proficient in Microsoft office;
· Clean background – must be able to be cleared to access government facilities;
· Procore experience a plus.
