ELITE WOMENS' HEALTH is Hiring a Front Desk Medical Receptionist Near Tallahassee, FL

Elite Women’s Health is searching for a full-time, goal-oriented, revenue-driven, highly accurate and motivated receptionist. The candidate must work well with others and have a professional and friendly disposition.

Duties:

  • Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer multi-line phone system
  • Complete insurance verification
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Collect patient copay/balances
  • Update patient demographic information and insurance information at every appointment
  • Scan insurance cards
  • Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as required for procedures.
  • Check eligibility and benefits verification for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures.
  • Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information.
  • Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance
  • Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
  • Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
  • Review accounts for insurance of patient follow-up.
  • Set up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare and other payer requirements and systems.
  • Competent use of computer systems; Experience with Athena EHR is a plus
  • Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding.
  • Effective communication abilities for phone contacts with insurance payers to resolve issues.
  • Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment. Being able to triage priorities, delegate tasks if needed, and handle conflict in a reasonable fashion.
  • Must be able to follow directions quickly and efficiently with varying workloads and interruptions.
  • Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections. A calm manner and patience working with either patients or insurers during this process.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA).
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma
  • 2-5 years of medical receptionist experience recommended

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
