CNC Machine Operator

Responsible for operation, loading and unloading material and parts, loading toolpaths, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring, and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing and operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
• Responsible for verification and documentation of part dimensions and tolerance as required for quality assurance.
• Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.
• Experience and ability to provide table assistance by means of tasks aligned with Table Loader (load and unload table, track and label parts, help maintain / clean equipment)
• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
• Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
• Required to visually inspect parts for surface details and machining finishes with close attention to details.
• Ensure paperwork is completed correctly.
• Follow factory quality and safety plans.
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality and provide general upkeep and preventive maintenance on machine and other tools.
• Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of productions.

Reports all machine malfunctions to Management.

• Ensure productions rates are met or exceeded.
• Communicates with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and performing basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
• Communicates all production related items to the next shift CNC operator or shift supervisors.
• Demonstrate teamwork by working well with others and responding positively to constructive feedback.

Qualifications :

• Experience in a manufacturing factory environment
• Proven experience as CNC operator
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to understand blueprint reading / geometric tolerance interpretation.
• Forklift experience needed
• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD / CAM
• Mechanical aptitude and must possess basic math skills
• Knowledge of the use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments.
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Effective communication abilities

CNC Machine Types :

• FROGMill CNC Router
• MultiCam CNC Cutting Machine
• CNC Rod Bending Machine / operating a rod bar bending machine or similar.
• Waterjet Cutting Machines / to process / produce high quality products.

Working Conditions / Schedule

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse setting.
• Work environment will change often and will require consistent awareness of surroundings and potential dangers to themselves and others.
• Work Schedule
• Shift 1 : Hours : 6am 2 : 30pm (MON-FRI)
• Shift 2 : Hours : 1 : 30pm 10pm (MON-FRI)
• This shift will start on first shift to evaluate and confirm abilities.
• Breaks : 30-minute lunch (unpaid) and 15-minute break (paid)
• Physical Requirements : The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. with assistance from others or lifting devices from floor to waist and waist to floor.
• Ability to walk, stand, hear, see to reasonably perform essential job functions.
• Abilities include drag, pull, lift, push, bend, kneel, climb, overhead work, torque, and other repetitive motions.
