Description

Elite Sports Medicine is looking for a manager who has a strong work ethic and can train and support various team members. The Durable Medical Equipment Technician (DME) Manager is responsible for staffing, leading and managing the DME Team and its functions as well as responsible for DME and medical supplies inventory management, compliant billing; bracing, casting, splinting; equipment cleaning and maintenance, and facility maintenance reporting. This position would required traveling to all of our 5 locations.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Lead and Manage DME Team
    • Recruit, hire, onboard, train and coach DME Technicians.
    • Maintain DME Technician staffing at all locations.
    • Approve PTO, payroll, and manage staffing budget to minimize overtime.
    • Conduct 1-to-1 Feedback Sessions, performance reviews, and team meetings.
    • Maintain playbook, processes, and protocols, as approved.
    • Assist Director in identifying KPIs, setting benchmarks and with Ninety Tools.
    • Provide DME Technician coverage, as needed.
  • Maintain Inventory for All Sites
    • Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, and dispensing.
    • Maintain inventory management system and Par Levels.
    • Ensure proper stocking, storage, cost assignment for HA, PRP and stem cells.
    • Review and approve invoices in accounts payable system.
    • Ensure timely and accurate inventory counts are taken monthly.
    • Analyze inventory discrepancies and address any issues promptly.
  • Dispense, fit, and apply DME and supplies, as prescribed.
    • Ensure DME orders and documentation are complete before issuing DME.
    • Review DME insurance benefits and estimated costs with patients
    • Educate patients on use and care.
    • Deliver to Surgical Facilities (Pre-op, OR, Recovery), as needed.
    • Ensure that charges are entered into EHR for all billable activities and dispensements.
    • Reconcile and revise surgery schedule daily.
    • Conduct DME and Injections Audits.
  • Cast and Splint Application and Removal, as prescribed.
  • DME billing and compliance.
    • Ensure all DME orders are billed in EHR system.
    • Track DME charges and collections.
    • Discuss denial trends and management with billing and adjust workflows as needed.
    • Ensure all locations are compliant with Medicare regulations.
    • Point of contact for Medicare On-Site Evaluations.
  • Point of Contact for Suppliers and Vendors
    • Maintain relationships and ensuring that vendors follow company policies and procedures.
    • Regularly assess opportunities for cost savings and coordinate annual re-bids.
    • Manage GPO relationships and evaluate options for cost savings.
    • Evaluate new DME products as needed or requested.
  • Maintain Facilities & Equipment
    • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment including Autoclave.
    • Maintain and monitor AED and Emergency Kits.
    • Test eyewash stations and sign off on weekly eyewash log.
    • Conduct weekly facility walkthroughs.
  • Maintain Logs and Reports
    • Month End Inventory & Shrinkage Reports.
    • Activity reports.
    • Cold therapy units, injections, casting, and splinting.
    • AED, Emergency Kits, and Eye Wash Stations report.
    • Cleaning and testing logs.
    • Daily Dispense Audit.
    • Monthly DME charge Audit report.
    • Injection Audit report.
    • Facilities Walk Through Reports.
  • Other Projects and Tasks
    • Obtain competitive quotes for DME, supplies, equipment.
    • Assist with new facility start up planning.
    • Procure office furniture & supplies.
    • Procure medical equipment.
    • Procure DME & medical supplies.


Experience:

Required:

  • Two (2) years medical experience.
  • Two (2) years of Inventory management and EHR software applications.
  • Two (2) years of experience in brace fitting, casting, and splinting.

Preferred:

  • One (1) year of personnel supervisory experience.

Education:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree health care area of study.
  • Completion or an accredited orthopedic specialist training program.

Required:

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality compliance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Computer skills necessary to operate MS Office Suite and other essential software.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and to work independently.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to follow instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Pleasant demeanor and professional appearance.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • Ability to provide patient education.
  • As this position may require travel for offsite delivery, a valid unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Ability to aggregate data, populate reports and provide insight into performance.
  • Ability to coach and conduct team meetings and 1-to-1 feedback sessions with direct reports.
