- Select suitable materials, finishes, and matting to complement the artwork.
- Ensure the highest quality of craftsmanship in frame construction, paying close attention to details and alignment.
- Inspect frames for any defects or imperfections and make necessary adjustments to meet gallery standards.
- Collaborate with clients and gallery staff to understand their specific frame preferences and requirements.
- Provide recommendations and guidance to clients regarding frame styles, materials, and finishes.
- Maintain and operate frame-building equipment safely and efficiently.
- Keep track of frame-making supplies, order materials as needed, and manage inventory to meet production demands.
- Work closely with artists, gallery curators, and other team members to ensure frames complement the artwork appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project timelines, priorities, and updates.
- Previous experience in custom frame building or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in using frame-making tools, machinery, and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship in frame construction.
