Eliassen Group is Hiring a Senior Principal Cloud Engineer Near Washington, DC
Our government client is looking for a Senior Principal Cloud Engineer to join their team.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. We offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Pay Rate: $90.00 - $100.00/hr on W2
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting is a reflection of a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided pay range.
W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
Responsibilities of the Senior Principal Cloud Engineer:
- Produce Infrastructure as Code or Configuration as Code, delivering solutions with a code first approach with sufficient comments and structure
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
- Diagnose and resolve complex performance, security, and/or technical challenges
- Support all tiers of applications deployed in the cloud, configuring network, cloud native services, infrastructure, and privileges for development teams
- Identify opportunities for optimizing cloud consumption and providing strategic direction for addressing those opportunities
- Create/update cloud environment configurations to establish/support application workloads
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 12 years of experience in information technology
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience deploying/configuring workloads within either AWS or Azure
- Experience with troubleshooting
- Experience designing and implementing cloud architectures
- Experience documenting requirements, user stories, and use cases
- Strong knowledge of enterprise computing and operating systems such as Linux and Windows
- Knowledge of Agile Project Management methodologies
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
- Professional Architect Certification within either AWS or Azure
