The Eli’s Bartender will maintain the existing bar program and under the guidance of management, aid in the development of the bar program’s forthcoming phases, as well as help train new bartenders and bar backs in all technical aspects of bar operations. The Lead Bartender will also assist management in inventory management, organization, cleaning schedule and checklist maintenance. The Lead Bartender will be in charge of maintaining batching consistency and par upkeep. The Bartender is expected to give service that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful while upholding company standards, values and balancing responsibilities in a busy, fast paced environment.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee and guide guest’s complete dining and restaurant experience
  • Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times
  • Full knowledge of food and beverage menu items including the major components of a dish; this may include ingredients and their source, simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients, preparation, and/or execution of correct food and beverage service
  • Extensive beverage knowledge including classic cocktails, local craft and international beers, wine varietals and pairings
  • Adhere to all company service standards and protocols
  • Confident and correct use of POS system for order entry and payment processing
  • Ensure food and beverage arrive to guests quickly and correctly; and confirming guest satisfaction
  • Maintain a sanitary environment for incoming and outgoing guests including but not limited to sanitizing tables and chairs and sanitizing bathrooms between guest use.
  • Ensure proper table maintenance, including water service, pre-bussing, etc.
  • Help to set up and break down tables, chairs, plants, and canopy for patio service
  • Ensure guests are charged correctly and receive proof of payment in a timely manner
  • Communicate respectfully with chefs (and kitchen team) as well as servers as necessary
  • Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
  • Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the bar and service areas
  • Stocking and preparing service related items, setting up and cleaning bar
  • Adhere to grooming and dress code standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume environment
  • Strong beverage knowledge and a passion for the service industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback
  • Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment

Physical Demands

The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
