ELEVATE WORKFORCE is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Corona, CA

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Objective: The candidate will need a strong technical accounting background, the ability to develop systems which support GAAP accounting, a broad range of business knowledge and an understanding of business drivers. The candidate must have an aptitude for systems and strong management and leadership skills. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and good oral and written communication skills. The candidate must be comfortable speaking in front of executives while possessing the necessary skills of not intimidating subordinates. The candidate must be committed to promoting an environment of continuous process improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.

• Assure that all financial transactions and records follow the rules, regulations, and procedures established by the company/GAAP.

• Verify that all accounts are supported by detailed account analyses and the balance sheet is kept current and reflects the current financial condition of the company monthly.

• Maintain an accounting function that is GAAP compliant and capable of having an audit occur at any month end, with virtually no audit adjustments.

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly financial forecasts as required by the support center.

• Understand DM 2/ MAS 200 based accounting system and capable of searching the tables to locate financial information as needed.

• Prepare, analyze and transmit, by the 5th business day the monthly financial report’

• Complete various state and local tax reporting is filed timely and complete. Tax reports include: personal property, federal excise, sales and use tax, gross receipts and other taxes as required at the branch level.

• Assist Corporate/Regional controller during year-end audit and any other external/internal audits

• Develop internal reports that provide various management levels with timely and relevant financial information that may be used for fact-based decision making.

• Provide leadership and mentoring to branch personnel. Act as a trusted business advisor to the branch general manager.

• Keep regional controller aware of new business and all events having financial implications.

• Responsible for the successful execution of branch physical inventories. Including fixed assets and products held for resale.

• Prepares variance analysis reports for actual results compared to budget and to forecast reporting.

 • Review and approve accounts payable invoices prior to payment. Ensure AP is processing Invoices accurately and posted to correct branch records.

• May be involved with collection actions on delinquent accounts and prepare a quarterly evaluation of the adequacy of the allowance for doubtful account balance.

• Develop and review a slow moving and excess inventory report and evaluate adequacy of the inventory reserve on a quarterly basis

• Compare performance with operating plans and standards, report and interpret results of operations to all levels of management as required.

• Promote and encourage an environment of continuous improvement and promote the reliance on information systems.

• Insure adherence to the capital expenditure policy.

• Assist with any due diligence projects and integrate the financial operations of acquisitions as needed.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• A CPA or MBA is preferred. Three to five years of public accounting experience and/or two to four years of supervisory experience within the Accounting/Finance Department of an operating company.

• Experience in a distribution accounting organization is a plus.

• General knowledge of financial accounting procedures is required.

• Must possess strong GAAP knowledge and capable of processing all accounting issues and reach conclusions that are GAAP compliant in every respect without the need of outside CPA’s.

• The candidate must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills capable of leading, managing and developing a finance team.

Training:

• Specific system training includes DM 2 / Mas 200 accounting software, Fixed Asset System within DM2, FRX Report Writing, ADP Report, Development, Sarbanes-Oxley Course, effective leadership and management improvement classes. and others as required.

• Capable of traveling as required

Attendance Requirements: Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory, including arriving at the time as scheduled
