City of Atlanta is Hiring a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Specialist Near Atlanta, GA

Job Grade: G - 17

Salary: $41,027.92 - $51,311.78

General Description and Classification Standards:

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Quality Assurance Quality Control Specialist (G.17) will serve as a key knowledge worker driving and engaging in critical initiatives for the department. The purpose of this role is to inspect and audit DPW services proactively for compliance and in response to customer/constituent complaints. The person in this role will utilize multiple applications to provide proactive awareness of concern areas for operational resolution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Committed to work harmoniously with others in the Department and other organizations as needed ensuring that the day-to-day activities are handled. 
  • Respond to and inspect escalations from the Office of Service Delivery, Department of Public Works executive team and the public concerning service delivery. 
  • Patrol designated and ad-hoc areas to ensure compliance of curbside and right-of way services. 
  • Review multiple software applications to assist in proactive identification of operational inefficiencies to resolve timely and efficiently. 
  • Organize various initiatives, from simple activities to more complex plans, working closely with management.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to discuss and resolve delayed services trends through patrols; review of software applications and explain trends to management. 
  • Validate services provided by the Department of Public Works and contracted service providers. 
  • Partner with Code Enforcement to report public-right-of way violations. 
  • Ability to prepare key reports for the management to drive operational efficiency.
  • Will be required to operate City vehicles in performing the job duties for this role. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Ability to listen and determine the nature of call or communication. 
  • Skills in customer service, quality assurance; utilizing and understanding computer applications and techniques as necessary in the completion of daily assignments; gathering and analyzing data for the purpose of preparing accurate and concise reports; interpreting and implementing assigned regulations, policies, and procedures as they are related to the inspections. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and other city departments, and to find appropriate solutions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; apply analytical skills and understand consequences of decisions and actions.
