Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and assistance to individuals in and/or out of their residence to achieve and/or maintain the outcomes of increased independence, productivity, enhanced family functioning, and inclusion in the community.

• Responsibilities:
• Direct support and assistance.
• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Assistance to enable an individual to attend an event, take a class, etc.
• Support from staff to assist an individual participating in activities such as: assistance in completing activities of daily living, ordering off a menu, purchasing items, learning basic cooking, laundry skills, etiquette, travel training, accessing activities in the community, etc.
• One-on-one tutoring.
• Support on a job site to assist in basic self-care, social skills, and activities of daily living.
• Implement individualized Service plans and behavior support plans.

Requirements:

• Must be willing to travel at least 80% of the time.
• Must have at minimum 2 years’ experience working with adults with
• developmental disabilities.
• Must have CPR and Standard First Aid Certification.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and abstract (not to exceed 5
• points).
• Must complete all mandated training and certification required by the Division of Developmental Disabilities and Eleos Family Services.
• Must cooperate with Eleos Family Services and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
