We're looking for an ambitious and self-motivated Data Analyst who wants to join us on our mission and shares our passion for blockchain data and the endless opportunities this data presents.
Role Overview
As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in gaining actionable insights from the most complete blockchain data set in the market. You'll work closely with teams across Elementus to take a data-driven approach to exploring blockchain activity and identifying new business opportunities for our customers. As a Data Analyst, you'll also take a market-driven approach to data analysis by working closely with customers to understand their business needs, and by periodically publishing research and analysis across mediums (e.g., Elementus blog and social media accounts).
This role will require an ability to bridge the worlds of traditional finance and blockchain technology. Additionally, the candidate will bring a passion for blockchain technology, a strong team-oriented mindset, and a track record of solving complex data problems. In this startup environment, the Data Analyst will thrive in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous work environment. However, you will be surrounded by passionate blockchain and data enthusiasts who will serve as valuable resources as you get acclimated to Elementus' technology and software.
Responsibilities

• Partner cross-functionally to wrangle large data sets, uncover insights, and succinctly summarize findings
• Leverage our software to build insights and analysis that can be used for customer conversations and other business opportunities
• Take a "commercial mindset" to better understand customer use cases, quickly respond to any questions, and partner with Product to identify opportunities
• Support our Sales team with ad-hoc analysis needed to drive market engagement
• Remain informed on the latest news and trends across the blockchain and crypto ecosystems, and serve as an industry expert for other colleagues
• Collaborate with Data Science to analyze complex blockchain transactions and smart contract activity; additional technical knowledge of blockchain technology a plus (e.g., understanding of integrating new blockchains, knowledge of new ERC standards, etc.).

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as an Analyst in the financial services and/or blockchain industries, with a deep understanding of traditional financial services institutions
• Past experience querying and analyzing large data sets to extract business insights; proficiency in data tools like SQL and python/R is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex blockchain topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver compelling data-driven narratives
• Comfortable presenting to institutional clients
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at the same time, and reprioritize work based on changing business priorities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and produce deliverables, often under tight deadlines
• Technical background and proficiency with databases and scripting languages is a plus

Stand Apart By Demonstrating the following

• Deep knowledge of blockchain, smart contracts, or decentralized finance (DeFi)
• Proactive in identifying problems, asking the right questions and independently driving to solutions

$125,000 - $175,000 a year
The base salary pay range for this position in New York City is $125-175K annually; however, base salary pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
