JOB TITLE: Production Employee – Blowfill and Cushion Department

DEPARTMENT: Blowfill and Cushion Department

LOCATION: Style Line Furniture

Verona, MS

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

FLSA: Non-Exempt

EFFECTIVE DATE: 1/24/2023

• SUMMARY: Blowfill and Cushion Department Employees may work around and with industrial machinery to fill cushions and pillows with poly fibers and ensure even distribution of material within the cover and maintain the appropriate weight as required by product specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and keep work area clean and organized
• Inspect raw materials prior to performing operations to ensure proper quality standards and alert the supervisor to any substandard raw materials or prior operations
• Cushions: operates various types of cushion machines including but not limited to suction machines and compression machines in order to fill cover with poly
• Blower: operates machinery to ensure poly fibers are blown into material to product specifications
• Regulator/Bagger: Disperse fiber into material evenly and bagging material according to style specifications
• Maintain 100% efficiency with tasks assigned and ensure production schedule is being met
• Communicate any issues with supervisor or appropriate member of management
• Work closely with other employees within the department to maintain a close team dynamic daily.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• At least two years' experience in a related industry preferred

Preferred Education and Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role and related industry

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing industrial setting. The employee may be exposed to both indoors and outdoors. Light to Moderate exposure to sun, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, biological hazards, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials and chemicals, machinery, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and electric currents.

While performing the duties of this job, involves frequent standing, frequent walking, light to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), light carrying, frequent bending and reaching, keyboarding, and telephone operation. Specific physical conditions require frequent work with chemicals, tools, machinery, moving mechanical parts, and risk of electrical shock.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work long hours as business needs require. Shifts are typically 8 hours (7am-3:45pm) but may be modified depending on production and staffing needs.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
