Weekends required.

Scheduled shifts: 5:30a - 1p

Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations at the hotel in partnership with the Operations Manager.

This role supervises all food & beverage duties and Rise support personnel. Responsibilities include but not are limited to ensuring proper completion of all food and beverage duties such as set up, tear down, Rise and Relax food prep. The Kitchen Supervisor facilitates orders for all kitchen-related food and supplies, Rise associate scheduling, and acts as responding manager when present. Upholds the hotel’s commitment to hospitality and ensures implementation of all hotel policies and house rules with a balanced focus on the hotel’s mission, guest satisfaction and employee wellbeing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to a variety of managerial and operational tasks, food & beverage and guest experience goals, with a focus on cost controls for the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Trains, cross–trains, and retrains all Rise personnel in accordance with hotel and brand standards.
  • Supports the onboarding, off boarding and performance evaluations of Rise personnel.
  • Assists in scheduling all Rise staff including time off requests and weekly availability.
  • Maintains working relationships and communicates with all departments.
  • Creates efficient communication between all Rise personnel and related departments.
  • Conducts scheduled meetings of Rise personnel monthly or as needed.
  • Ensure implementation of all hotel policies and house rules.
  • Spearheads auditable kitchen standards set forth by corporate and county level criteria.
  • Ensure that Rise employees are, at all times, punctual, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests managers and other employees.
  • Wears a proper uniform at all times. Enforces all Rise employees wear proper uniforms at all times.
  • Ensure quality control Rise area with regard to cleanliness and appearance.
  • Maintains a work ethic that shows efficient uses of time when not in the direct presence of a guest, and ensures all staff are held accountable to the same standard.
  • Maintain required pars of all kitchen inventory.
  • Approach and service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive friendly courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Accommodate any special requests made by a guest or offer appropriate alternatives.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data with basic arithmetic functions.
  • Evaluates food and kitchen waste and communicates findings to direct supervisor.
  • Upholds the hotel's commitment to hospitality and performs miscellaneous duties as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of hospitality and service industry preferred.
  • Strong and confident people skills with the ability to communicate on both a social and business level.
  • Knowledge and skill in operating and using food preparation tools.
  • Proficiently speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language. Ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment can be extremely helpful in facilitating good communication among all hotel team members.
  • Able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and desire to participate as part of a team.
  • Be a role model for all team members.
  • Able to make decisions with only general policies and procedures available for guidance.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
