Sr. /Engineer II/III, Internal Process Development – Boston Seaport - Onsite

Elektrofi is a biologics formulation startup focusing on the subcutaneous delivery of proteins. We deliver ultra-high concentration doses of proteins using our proprietary microparticle technology. This technology will expand access to biologics by replacing the traditional hours-long intravenous infusion required for most proteins with a rapid subcutaneous injection that can be self-administered at home.

Position Summary

Elektrofi is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our biotech company full-time as a Sr. /Engineer II/III, Internal Manufacturing to support the development of the novel Elektrofi formulation platform. The individual will join a growing, multidisciplinary team of scientists/engineers and industry professionals.

A successful candidate will support manufacturing, process development, or drug product development in the manufacturing and analysis of biologically active microparticle suspensions and their interactions with delivery devices. This individual will join a growing, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers and contribute to a variety of manufacturing and process development activities in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, execution, and documentation of manufacturing batch runs or R&D experiments, with a focus on the production and physicochemical characterization of microparticle formulations or delivery devices.
  • Analysis and presentation of process and product characterization data, including drafting of memos and reports.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of novel process or analytical equipment.
  • Development and maintenance of equipment operating procedures and batch production records

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related engineering discipline with 3 years’ industrial experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A desire to gain hands on laboratory experience with biopharmaceutical process equipment, parenteral delivery devices, or physical analysis of biologic drug products.
  • A detail-oriented approach to documenting experiments
  • The ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Familiarity with computer programming languages and standard office software (MS Office)
  • Working knowledge of basic methods of data analysis
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to thoroughly document experimental work.
