U.S. Customs and Border Protection is Hiring a Program Manager with Security Clearance Near Washington, DC

This Program Manager position is with the Office of Trade, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in our Trade Regulatory Audit (TRA) Directorate located in Washington D.C. ***Eligibility: This opportunity is open to Veterans with VEOA status; federal employees with competitive status or those who meet the definition of a surplus or displaced employee; and current and former Land Management employees. Typical work assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Providing technical assistance and direct support to headquarters and field management staff in all matters relating to the application of planning systems and management programs to meet TRA and other agency mission requirements.
• Coordinating, collaborating, requesting, and processing feedback and technical guidance from field headquarters divisions and other components, as well as from subject matter experts for incorporation into new and updated policies, procedures, and processes; also, special projects, work product, and innovative solutions and/or new initiatives.
• Providing management with guidance and assistance on sensitive personnel issues to provide consistency across the TRA Field offices and Headquarters. Such issues include extended leave policies (e.g., the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)) and potential disciplinary actions.
• Conducting independent research on priority issues with minimal guidance and making oral and written reports and presentations in a clear, concise, and effective manner. Salary and Benefits
This position starts at a salary of $117,962.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10). Employees receive the full package of federal employment benefits that include health and insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan similar to a traditional 401(k) offering. Qualifications
Experience–You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
• Developing and maintaining relationships among team members, divisions, and components as well as external stakeholders, as appropriate in the development of work product and representing the agency.
• Planning, implementing, and managing multiple projects that are broad in scope and/or complexity with limited guidance and within established time frames.
• Researching and reporting on complex information and concepts; also providing briefings regarding significant issues.
• Preparing written reports, information papers, briefings, status reports, and other documents related to priority issues with limited oversight.
