Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.

ECI has an opening for a transmission line design engineer in Phoenix, AZ. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing transmission lines to ensure efficient and reliable electrical power transmission; working closely with project teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to develop comprehensive design solutions for transmission line designs; conducting feasibility studies, routing studies, creating detailed design specifications, performing structural and electrical calculations, and participating in every stage of transmission line design projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and structural engineering and, with the desire to understand the electrical grid, have knowledge of ASCE industry standards and be proficient in using design software tools. As a transmission line design engineer, you will gain an understanding of the transmission line design process and how to develop a final construction package becoming fluent in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, FAD, and LPLIE design software.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in engineering with a preference for a focus in Civil Engineering. Mechanical and Electrical engineering degrees will also be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required; passing the FE exam is preferred; design engineering experience is a plus; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules. A commitment to progress towards PE licensure is encouraged. The successful applicant must have fundamental knowledge of transmission engineering principals and applicable codes and standards. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
