Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Denver, CO office (physically located in Centennial, CO) as a Project Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical drafting and design work for electrical substations ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV.
A Project Engineer assists the Project Manager in the planning and execution of best-in-class projects, including client and stakeholder coordination, training and mentoring of design staff, project quality assurance, and oversight of design engineers, designers, drafters and support staff. Project Engineers coordinate the completion of specialized tasks with ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), Transmission & Distribution Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls
Responsibilities include co-ordination and execution of conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations; including material specifications for vendors/procurement; supporting construction, commissioning/startup support through energization. Engineering responsibilities include the development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license is preferred. 6 years' project and design engineering experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Commitment to quality and accuracy and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules. Advanced knowledge of power engineering principals, effectively implement applicable codes, standards and design tools. Must possess a proven ability to work with confidential information and proven ability to exercise independent judgment. The successful applicant may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving will be required. Successful applicant is subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
