El Concilio California Academies is searching for dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide individualized academic and behavioral interventions with an innovative learning approach, personalized attention, and all the necessary support services students need to thrive. • Identify the educational needs of students then develop formal educational plan or program to meet those needs.
• Prepares daily lesson plans consistent with evaluations and /or IEP's and overall education plan.
• Observe student to evaluate their educational abilities, strengths and weaknesses, working with them to improve their abilities and work on their weaknesses.
• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups or one-on-one. Communicate with family members, counselors, administrators and other teachers on progress.
• Work with students individually to help overcome specific learning challenges, prepare students for standardized tests, as required by state.
• Document educational plans, goals and progress. Supervise classroom and maintain a positive environment for learning.
• Develop and enforce classroom rules and administrative policies. Supervise students outside of the classroom setting.
• Adhere to treatment plans and participate in treatment team meetings as requested.
• Suggests improvements in department functions as it relates to the educational services.
• Shares expertise and provides support to other educational staff members.
• Performs a variety of other related duties requested by the department or the school, and complies with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or higher in the field of Special Education from an accredited University program
• Valid CA Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
• SPED Teaching Credentials
