Eisenhower Center Brand is Hiring a Direct Service Professional Near Ann Arbor, MI

Direct Service Professional Essential Duties:

  • Personal Care Assistance -Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and feeding as necessary.
  • Medication Management – Administer medications according to the prescribed schedules and document accurately when needed.
  • Behavioral Support – implement strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior management techniques.
  • Community Integration – facilitate community outings and activities to promote social/community engagement.
  • Health – Monitor residents health status and report any changes or concerns to appropriate medical or supervisory staff.
  • Documentation/Compliance – Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident progress, daily activities and any incidents or observations and ensuring level of supervision is followed at all times with residents. Also, staying within compliance with facility/state requirements.
  • Safety – Ensure the safety and security of residents at all times and respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies or crisis situations. QBS training is required as well.
  • Communication – Maintain open and effective communication with residents, families, colleagues, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Community Integration – facilitate community outings and activities to promote social/community engagement.
  • Collaboration – Work collaboratively with other members of the treatment team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Advocacy – Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in decision-making processes.
  • Engagement – Ensuring engagement with resident is done throughout shift on a consistent basis.
  • Individualized Support – providing one on one support to individuals with disabilities based on their unique needs and goals.
    • Skill Development – shall carry out intervention plans and strategies created by clinical staff aimed at improving life skills.
    • Data Collection – collect accurate and reliable data on target behaviors using designated tools. Maintain detailed records of client progress, including frequencies, duration, and intensity of behaviors to be able to track outcomes.
    • Emotional/Social Support – Providing emotional support to residents. Offering encouragement and assistance in coping with challenges and adjusting to changes. Facilitating socialization opportunities and community engagement as appropriate.
    • Leading by example on the floor for DSP staff as well and assisting with any DSP needs and fostering a positive environment/culture.
    • Attends to the resident’s immediate needs for safety and assists in a manner that fosters independent functioning and customer satisfaction on the part of the resident, family, and funder. This position may be required to provide direct assistance with showering, with toileting and or other personal care for the residents.
    • Ensures that the Recipient Rights of each resident are protected as trained in Recipient Rights class.
    • Maintains an appropriate and professional relationship / interactions with residents.
    • Participates actively in all assigned training programs to meet CMH, licensing and facility requirements.
    • Knows and implements incident, risk management, emergency and safety procedures as indicated by the facility training programs and procedures manual.
    • Adheres to personnel policies and procedures.
    • May be directed to work on or provide assistance on any other EC residential units. Refusal is not permitted.
    • Operates company vehicles in a safe manner (No speeding, driving recklessly, etc.) and for EC use only.
    • Other related duties as assigned.

Direct Service Professional Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Passes the medication administration class and test.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to get to and from work

Direct Service Professional Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Experience with providing direct care to individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to accept feedback
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and demonstrate patience and empathy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Notes:

  • Staff in Full Time/Part Time Slots are expected to work the set schedule consistently and are permitted to pick up additional shifts with approval.

Direct Service Professional Pay rate:

$16.15 base pay Bi-Weekly

Schedules available:

Sunday-Thursday B shift 330p-12a

Sunday-Thursday C shift 1130p-8a

Tuesday-Saturday B shift 330p-12

Tuesday-Saturday C shift 1130p-8a

Friday-Monday B shift 330p-12a

Friday-Monday C shift 1130p-8a
