Position Title: Sales Associate

Eighth Generation, the first Native-owned company to offer wool blankets, is searching for a self-starter with a strong general awareness of the Native experience, history and art to work at the Eighth Generation flagship store at Pike Place Market. Relationships are critical to our growing business, and the successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining strong customer and community relations.

Position Basics

• $22 per hour starting wage
• Pike Place Market flagship store location
• 24-32 hours per week to start
• Starts ASAP

Reports to: Retail Manager

Position Description

• Greet customers and answer questions about products, artists, Eighth Generation, and the broader Native experience.
• Maintain tidy and well-stocked inventory, including inventory tracking
• Process POS (point of sale) purchases
• Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
• Build productive, trusting relationships with customers
• Host visiting artists and organizations using the Busted Knuckle Gallery
• Perform related duties as needed
• Provide consumer education

Job Requirements

• Retail experience preferred
• POS system experience preferred
• Strong general awareness of the Native experience
• Ability to communicate effectively about Eighth Generation values and business practices
• Ability to pass a background check
• Access to transportation to downtown Seattle
• Non-Disclosure Agreement is required
• Position is open until filled

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
