Eightfold is Hiring an Internal Support Specialist Near Utica, NY

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain strict confidentiality of information contained in reports, communications and files.
  2. Obtain and maintain current disability documentation for disabled direct labor employees in accordance with the AbilityOne program definition.
  • Provide education and support to the managers and supervisors that supervise people with disabilities.Educate on types of disabilities and the different ways disabilities manifest in people.
  • Collaborate with managers/supervisors on best ways to address a personnel issue as it relates to a person’s disability.
  • Complete Individual Eligibility Evaluations (IEE). (Initial and annually.) Collaborate with and share the IEE with the supervisors.
  1. Manage IEE program, including completing all IEEs and any other required disability documentation formats, monitoring and responding to supervisory notes entered by supervisors, tracking trends and time spent supporting an employee, developing training needs and participating in all audits.
  2. Provide proactive intervention or reactive upon request, information and referrals for all direct labor employees. Coordinate these services with the supervisor and ensure inclusion of the person’s natural supports as appropriate. The natural supports include but are not limited to co-workers, family, case managers/service coordinators, and therapists.
  3. Set up and maintain regular visits to offsite locations. Be proactive to their needs and coordinate supports as needed. 
  4. Provide job coaching for new employees and current employees learning new tasks, if necessary. Not everyone will need job coaching.
  5. Complete Job Shadowing to assist supervisor and employee when identifying possible accommodations that could support the employee to be successful in their job. (I.E. Job task lists)
  6. Coordinate and maintain accurate and timely notes for all supports provided within the HR Database.
  7. Participate in new employee orientation to educate new employees about your role and internal supports that are available.
  8. Coordinate annual meetings with ACCSES-VR and track & maintain required documentation under the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA).
  9. Maintain current HIPAA authorizations for disabled direct labor employees.
  10. Manage all disability and IEE documents in preparation and participation for all audits.
  11. Understand and assure compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) & Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).
  12. Actively participate in regular department and other in-house committees along with off-site committees as appropriate.
  13. Comply with safety policies and procedures for safety of self and others.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Human Resources.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate’s degree with concentration in Human Services, Psychology or related field required.
  2. Three (3) years of experience in the human service field.
  3. A combination of education and work experience that is significant equivalent to the above.
  4. Knowledge of available community resources.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Proficiency with operating multiple computer programs such as word processing, spreadsheets and email.
  7. Must have a valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and have and maintain a driving record in accordance with Human Technologies’ Liability/Automotive Insurance carrier.
  8. Must be willing to work FLEXIBLE HOURS as Needed.
  9. Must pass any required federal, state, municipality, and/or customer-specific background checks.
