The Sales and Use Tax Compliance Manager will contribute to the Firm’s Outsourced and Managed Services (OMS) team by managing the Sales & Use Tax (SUT) components of the practice. These components include both ongoing SUT compliance matters as well as consulting/research aspects. This role will work with both technology partners and internal staff to innovate current service offerings; allowing for future growth and expansion. You will also mentor and train fellow staff in the outsourced accounting services area, related to SUT.

Expected responsibilities:

• Sales & Use tax (SUT) knowledge source for both client consulting opportunities and in support of Eide Bailly staff.
• Research and consult on SUT topics, in conjunction with Eide Bailly’s State and Local Tax (SALT) consulting team.
• Liaison with SALT team to streamline collaboration among the groups.
• Enhance the tools & processes for ongoing sales and use tax filings for OMS clients as well as other current EB clients.
• Collaborate with technology partners to streamline & enhance current SUT service offering for OMS.
• Maintain technology partner relationships for SUT tools used internally, and train staff on these tools.
• Manage the team of people performing sales and use tax filings for clients.
• Enhance internal SUT resources & communication channels for use within the OMS team.
• Liaison for OMS with National Tax Office – Assisting with research as needed and education OMS staff related to tax regulation updates and their applicability to OMS clients.
• Various other projects as assigned.

Who You Are

• Knowledge of general ledger accounting and principles.
• In-depth experience with sales & use tax compliance and research.
• Ability to think innovatively to incorporate technology solutions and streamlined processes.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), QuickBooks and using various software packages.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 5 years’ experience preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Valid Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant license or working towards obtaining one of these licenses preferred.

Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
