Duties
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Collect and verify patient information, including medical history and insurance details
- Assist with patient registration and intake forms
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes and emails
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology, including knowledge of common medical abbreviations and procedures
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and record them in patient charts
- Familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-10 and CPT for accurate billing purposes
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and basic life support procedures
- Experience in providing patient care, including medication administration when necessary
- Understanding of radiology procedures, including X-ray imaging techniques
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
