Eagle Global Scientific, (EGS) LLC is a subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corporation is a provider of direct healthcare and support services to government agencies, including Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) both state side and overseas. EGS is currently searching for an Outpatient Pharmacist at Madigan Army Medical Center.The Pharmacist shall provide services in the Department of Pharmacy within the inpatient and/or outpatient arena. Hours of scheduled work may include weekdays or weekends. The ability to analyze patterns and trends to determine appropriate, effective and economical drug therapy management and when improvement in these areas can be identified; the ability to recommend alternatives. Check the work of pharmacy technicians to assure that all drugs dispensed are properly labeled and packaged, and that direction for use and cautions, when necessary, are complete before the drug is dispensed to the patient. Annotate both prescriptions and prescription labels with initials and/or numbered stamp to show dispensing check has been performed, or as completed by pharmacy automation. The pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, processing prescriptions or drug orders; and resolving or clarifying associated problems with prescriptions or drug orders; accurate and correct drug preparation, basic compounding as indicated, and dispensing at outpatient pharmacy locations. Fill prescriptions, including controlled drug prescriptions, by selecting the correct drug and dosage form, reducing the drug from bulk to the quantity prescribed, compounding when necessary, packaging the drug in an appropriate container. Authenticating all established records as required by Pharmacy SOP’s documenting work units, documenting medication errors and maintaining prescription files to include controlled drugs and investigational drugs. Daily interactions with prescribers, clinic/hospital staff, pharmacy staff and patients. Consulting with and advising nurses and members of the medical staff on matters such as contraindications, side effects, and antagonistic reactions; and suggest alternative medications as appropriate. Determine the validity of drugs prescribed by the numerous physician extenders, ensuring the drug prescribed is on the particular physician extender’s list if applicable. Documentation of pharmacist interventions; participation in target drug programs, drug utilization and cost effectiveness studies (DUE/DUR), patient education/counseling, prevention of adverse outcomes, monitoring for controlled substance overuse/misuse, other staff pharmacist duties as assigned or indicated for quality patient care and customer service. The pharmacist shall provide non-personal services in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the Department of Pharmacy at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Tacoma, WA.Experience:Must have an extensive knowledge of the drugs and other pharmaceuticals available, their nature, action and interaction.Qualifications:Must have a Doctoral of Pharmacy degree from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE). Residency training and/or board certification is preferredPhysical Demands:Health and immunization requirements. All contract personnel performing services under this contract shall comply with the health and immunization requirements as stated in the TAMC Health Requirements clause. Hours of scheduled work may include weekdays or weekends and evening and nighttime shifts. Assigned work schedule may not necessarily be consistent and may rotate among days of the week and various work shiftsSpecial Requirements, Certifications and Licensures:Must possess a valid, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in Washington State.
