Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement purchasing strategies that align with the overall business objectives of the organization including identifying opportunities for cost saving, negotiating with suppliers, and evaluating supplier performance.
- Places purchase orders of raw material based on production demand and expedite the purchase orders as needed based on schedule and demand.
- Keep necessary paperwork organized and track purchase orders and production work orders on ERP system.
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports tracking production time and shipment availability.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, quality, and inventory management to ensure procurement and production of products are satisfactorily completed on-time.
- Reviewing requisition requests, preparing purchase orders, and soliciting bids for goods and services.
- Prepare and implement effective negotiating tactics while administering contracts with suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations including maintaining accurate records, monitoring supplier compliance, and ensuring that all contracts and agreements are properly executed.
- Resolves vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
- Additional miscellaneous duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned.
Experience:
- 3-5 years purchasing or sourcing experience (preferably in a manufacturing industry)
- Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing processes, terminology, quoting and transportation methods.
- Proven skills as a purchasing agent or relevant role.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions.
- Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to comply with the Company’s Drug-Free Workplace policy.
