Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, caring, and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our specialty pelvic floor physical therapy clinic. As a Patient Care Coordinator (and receptionist), you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office and providing exceptional administrative support to our patients. The position is part time with competitive compensation according to experience level and performance. The position involves interacting with patients, handling the schedule, filing paperwork, answering phones, sending faxes, laundry, and explaining pelvic floor physical therapy to new patients. The front desk is the face of the clinic to patients and essential for success of the clinic.
The position requires 12 hours per week with potential to increase in hours. Hours will be 6:45am-9:45am Monday through Thursday.
About Our Clinic:
Effingham Pelvic Health & Wellness is a pelvic floor physical therapy clinic focusing on pregnancy and postpartum care as well as bladder, bowel, and sexual health. It opened in fall 2021 and continues to grow. The team currently consists of 3 physical therapists and one full time patient care coordinator. We believe in one hour treatment sessions and up to two hour evaluations to fully address all issues from pain, bowel, bladder, and sexual health symptoms. The patients have often seen other doctors before arriving at our specialty clinic.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate demographic information in their chart
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits, coordinating with healthcare providers and specialists as needed
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide assistance to patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all medical information
- Process payments and provide superbills
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and timely delivery of care
- Provide general administrative support such as emails, filing documents, and maintaining office cleanliness
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical administration is preferred
- Minimum of one year experience in customer service setting- experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience working in a medical office or similar healthcare setting
-Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with patients at all times
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other office software applications (Google drive documents)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Must feel comfortable on the phone and communicate clearly
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Ability to learn and communicate about pelvic floor physical therapy and the various diagnoses that are seen at the clinic
