EDUCATIONAL SERVICE DIST 112 is Hiring an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist (Anticipated Openings 24-25) Near Vancouver, WA

General ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Director of Early Intervention, the Occupational Therapist (OT) provides occupational therapy services in the areas of assessment, direct therapy, training and consultation to staff and families of children ages birth to three in natural environments as a primary service provider. The OT serves as a liaison with medical and community service providers on behalf of children with disabilities and their families.Assignment/Location:We are recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to serve our Early Intervention program. This position is full time, 185 day contract. We are building an applicant pool for 2024-2025 anticipated openings. Your application will be considered as positions become available. Estimated start date will be August 2024. Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:
  1. Inform teachers and other school personnel of occupational therapy services.
  2. Provide formal and informal evaluations assessing functional capabilities of infants and toddlers on assigned caseload.
  3. Develop and implement specific goals with measurable outcomes in the Individual Family Service Plan in conjunction with the IFSP team.
  4. Maintain all Early Intervention documentation including EI state forms and written documenation of all evaluations, goals, occupational therapy treatment plans, progress notes, and communication with doctors and families, in formats in a professional manner and in compliance with established time frame.
  5. Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Ensure goals of the infant, toddler, and family are met as stated in the Individual Family Service Plan.
  7. Provide consultation and home programs for the families/caregivers to facilitate goals as identified in the Individual Family Service Plan.
Other Functions:
  1. Other duties as assigned.
  2. Availability to consult for other disciplines on an as-needed basis.
  3. Attend required scheduled meetings.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:
  1. Hold or eligible to hold a valid Washington State ESA occupational therapist certificate.
  2. Hold or eligible to hold a valid Washington State license to practice occupational therapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience working in a special education public school setting or with pediatric populations.
  2. Experience interpreting state and federal special education law.
Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions:
  1. Provide service in homes and child care centers.
  2. Physically able to perform duties of position in addition to the ability to get to a child's level, ability to bend and/or stoop.
  3. Physical ability to transfer and/or lift children and equipment.
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
  2. Driver's license and an acceptable driving abstract.
