EDUCATIONAL SERVICE DIST 112 is Hiring a Director of Therapeutic Programs Near Vancouver, WA

General ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Executive Director of Specialized Student Services, the Director of Therapeutic Programs provides senior leadership support to ESD 112 Therapeutic Programs including Quest Academy, Curae Center, Gorge Academy, Spero Center and a Developmental Therapeutic Program opening Fall 2024. The Director provides system wide leadership and is responsible for system wide program development & implementation.Salary:The full salary range for this position is $130,607.04 - $158,903.66. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.Assignment:This position is full time, year round (260 days).This position is open until filled with applications submitted by May 22, 2024 receiving first consideration.Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:
  1. Facilitate and lead Therapeutic Program strategic planning and oversee implementation of effective services by Therapeutic Program center directors.
  2. Design and implement, in collaboration with program directors, systems wide initiatives and programming.
  3. Perform personnel administrative functions, including making recommendations for hiring, counseling, training, supervising, evaluating providing professional development opportunities, for the purpose of maintaining necessary productivity of staff, and ensuring necessary department objectives are achieved.
  4. Support the development of, and implement, the business plan that supports the sustainability and growth of Therapeutic Programs. Collaborate with program directors on the development of program budgets.
  5. Develop long and short-range plans for the purpose of ensuring organizational and compliance objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with school districts, families, community agencies; and local, state and federal government entities.
  7. Work with the ESD System, School Improvement staff and school districts to design and implement Therapeutic Program plans that support school and district improvement plans.
  8. Design and deliver professional development to support the training and growth of Therapeutic Program staff.
  9. Assist Therapeutic Program center directors with the development and implementation of behavioral health services and curriculum that are most suitable for Therapeutic Program centers, and with the interpretation and implementation of ESD 112, state and federal special education laws, regulations, and policies that govern students with disabilities.
  10. Develop and maintain data collection systems that support student success and comply with state and federal reporting requirements.
  11. Collaborate and partner with Teaching & Learning leadership to create region-wide professional development programs that build capacity of teachers and leaders to implement inclusive practices for students with significant needs and to make decisions based on research and best practice in special education, mental health services, student support teams and related services.
Other Functions:
  1. Participate in Teaching & Learning division leadership meetings.
  2. Serve on ESD 112 committees, task forces, and ad hoc groups.
  3. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:
  1. Master's degree in a mental health, psychological, educational or social science field.
  2. Five years of leadership experience as an administrator of a special education or therapeutic behavioral health program (public or private).
  3. Experience supervising employees.
  4. Experience designing strategies and services for children/adolescents with mental and behavioral needs.
  5. Experience delivering professional development to staff and partners.
  6. Experience developing and maintaining positive relationships with partner organization leadership and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience serving as a liaison with state and federal education agencies, professional organizations, school districts and/or institutions of higher education.
  2. Experience delivering presentations to large and small groups.
  3. Experience working in an educational service district.
  4. Experience developing program policies and procedures.
  5. Experience working in educational settings as a Special Education Administrator.
  6. Licensures/certification as a therapist, BCBA, or similar mental/behavioral health professional.
Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  1. Travel throughout the ESD 112 service region. Occasional overnight travel.
  2. Extended or flexible hours as needed.
Employment Requirements - ESD job offer is contingent upon satisfying the following:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
