About the Position
This is a 1.0 FTE continuing contract position for a Multilingual Learner (ML) Elementary Teacher. This position begins at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
NOTE: Per Governor Jay Inslee's proclamation on August 18, 2021, all school district employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious exemption. All new hires will be required to provide verification of vaccination or be eligible for an exemption as a condition of employment.
Edmonds School District ML teachers support student's English language acquisition through research based interventions and creating language rich environments. ML teachers also support their building staff on integrating language supports with grade level instruction in order to support students in reaching and exceeding grade level goals. In addition to supporting students and staff in their building ML teachers will collaborate with the district on implementing State Transitional Bilingual Instructional programming requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Washington State Teaching Certificate with an English Learner (or compatible) endorsement, or the ability to obtain one prior to the position start date.

Salary:
2021-22 Salary Schedule range: $69,131.00 through $124,959.00. (2022-23 salary schedule yet to be finalized.) Placement on this salary schedule is determined by FTE and official documentation verifying Educational Level and Certificated Work Experience and will be prorated for less than a full year and/or FTE.
Benefits:
Our benefits package includes Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package for eligible positions. Eligibility for health insurance at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a .5 FTE continuing contract position, or being hired into a non-continuing position that is anticipated to reach 630 hours during the school year. Eligibility for retirement at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a .6 FTE contract (continuing or non-continuing). Exceptions may be made for certain job share and/or leave replacement situations.
