Position: Landfill Gas Wellfield Technician
Location: Brea, California, United States
Reporting to: Regional Supervisor

The Wellfield Technician will work as a member of a small multi-skilled team to maintain the
landfill gas wells and infrastructure associated with the landfills are in working order, while
following sound engineering practices.

Responsibilities
Maintain compliance and overall health and safety of oneself and other personnel, the
environment and equipment in the landfill gas well field and supporting infrastructure
Maintain the wellfield with contractual requirements of the Gas Rights Agreement (GRA)
and the New Source Performance Standard (NSPS) regulatory compliance requirements
Optimize the operational performance of the overall well field to help ensure that the gas
required to meet the budgeted generation targets is available
Highlight and report areas of concern to management and the Landfill Operator
Capable of functionally utilizing data recording and storage devices as they relate to well
tuning and downloading of well data
Import and review monitoring data and take appropriate corrective actions to address
deficiencies reported on within the data base
Assist in well field system shutdowns, be available and respond callouts that may occur
outside of normal work shift hours and other related duties as directed by supervision
Maintain minor remediation, repairs well head and hose exchanges, well tuning and
inspections
Interface and coordinate with Landfill Operator on planned and unplanned maintenance
(outside and inside) the scope of the GRA
Oversee work undertaken by contractors when required
Communicate effectively with all staff and encourage positive dialogue between team
members.
Take ownership of the gas field with focus on achieving the gas field KPI’s
Ensure health and safety of themselves and of others through understanding and
implementing their workplace health and safety obligations – being a role model for health
and safety

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Basic math, verbal and writing communication skills
Able to compile and analyse data and undertake dynamic Risk Assessments as required
Work collaboratively as part of a team and individually to achieve set objectives
Computer skills including MS Word and Excel, download mobile handheld equipment and
data loggers
Mechanical aptitude and experience to make repairs and adjustments in duties noted above
Work based experience in appropriate technical discipline
Willing to work overtime, be on call for emergencies and work flexible work hours from time
to time
Enthusiastic and self-motivated
Hazardous Area training or experience (preferred)
Oil, gas, or power station experience (preferred)
Landfill Gas infrastructure maintenance or construction (preferred)
Confined Space qualifications (preferred)
Physical Requirements
Able to and for extended times be capable of working outdoors and in inclement weather
Able to and for extended times be capable of sitting, standing, walking, reading technical
documents and looking at computer monitors
Exposure/proximity to loud noise, odorous spaces, dangerous gas and other potential
hazards requiring appropriate personal protective equipment, training and adherence to
safety programs and practices
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Climb vertical access ladders and stairwells
See and distinguish the various colors of the light spectrum.
Must be able to wear a respirator and various required personal protective equipment
required for safely working with various materials, climates and conditions
