Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Controller, our Senior Accountant role entails executing routine accounting procedures to facilitate and enhance monthly and year-end accounting processes, reconciliation efforts, and closing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile monthly bank accounts.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for assigned Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Assist with preparing schedules for the annual financial statement audit.
  • Maintain fixed assets for state (DC) books by recording additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Prepare annual DC personal property tax return.
  • Assist with workpapers to support the annual 990 tax return.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable staff with general questions involving Business Central, Cvent and non-routine AR transactions.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, dimension changes, and budget amendments.
  • Assist with Concur account setup/maintenance for staff.
  • Provide guidance to staff on expense report questions and reconciliations.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned to include tax research.
  • Prepare Associate dues billings and maintain Associate Dues Accounts Receivable report daily.
  • Coordinate billings with the Member Relations Department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required and degrees in related fields with relevant experience can be taken into account; CPA certification a plus
  • 2-4 years of general ledger experience to include knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Tax experience preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Excel is a must
  • Familiarity with Business Central, Cvent, and/or Concur is a plus
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Compensation

The salary range for this role begins at $68,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of base salary. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, tuition assistance, wellness incentives and programs, transportation subsidy, and professional development opportunities.

Office Protocol

This role operates remotely, with occasional in-person attendance required for special events, projects, and training or professional development opportunities at the office.
