Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Manager opportunity for our customer in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania to support the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory.
Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory is a U.S. Government-owned research and development facility in the Pittsburgh suburb of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
Location: Onsite - Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory (20% Teleworking)
Duration: 3 Years
Department: Bettis Facilities Infrastructure Engineering
Clearance: DOE L Clearance
Required Experience: 10 Years
Job Description:
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet. The Materials Evaluation Laboratory (MEL} has reached the end of its service life and has begun planning for Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) of the facility.
The Project Manager will lead a small team to develop, plan, track, and improve projects for specific scopes of work within the MEL D&D Program. This will occur in conjunction with ongoing operations. The project manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining project team infrastructure, defining project scope and work breakdown structure, developing cost estimates and resource loaded schedules, evaluating change requests, identifying and mitigating project risks, and interfacing with and integrating the efforts of stakeholders, support personnel, and line management to ensure project objectives are achieved.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Formal project management training and leadership experience.
  • Oracle Primavera P6 familiarity.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Previous experience with planning radiological work, Decontamination and Decommissioning, Government projects, and procuring goods and services.
  • Strong team building and conflict resolution skills.
