Edgewater Technical Associates is Hiring a Procurement Specialist Near Ridge, TN

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Procurement Specialist opportunity in East TN to support a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project.
Position Title: Procurement Specialist
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 to 20 years of related experience.
  • Experience in the development of purchase orders/subcontracts, negotiating terms, and the subcontract approval process.
  • Ability to evaluate suppliers.
  • Proficient experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing.
  • High level of proficiency in writing and editing skills; experience in doing market research to determine a sound acquisition strategy, develop source selection information, and develop a compliant solicitation;
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgement.
  • Excellent attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
  • Possess a high level of motivation, energy, diplomacy and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and instruction, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to exercise sound independent judgement within general policy and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities:
  • Interpret specifications and statements of work.
  • Analyze proposals where price and /or technical evaluations are involved and make decisions involving multiple objectives.
  • Research and interpret regulations and contract requirements.
  • Establish objectives, performance criteria and measures regarding contract administration.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factors.
  • Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
  • Negotiate, renegotiate and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives.
